🍽️ Classic Christmas Pudding

Ingredients
- 100 g beef suet
- 100 g mixed candied fruit
- 100 g raisins
- 100 g currants
- 50 g chopped almond kernels
- 100 g breadcrumbs
- 100 g brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 tbsp milk
- 40 ml whisky
- 0.5 untreated lemon (zested)
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- butter (for the mold)
- marzipan (optionally colored with green food coloring)
- powdered sugar
- cranberries (for decoration)
Instructions
- 1. Remove the membranes from the beef suet.
- 2. Finely chop the chilled fat.
- 3. Cut the candied fruit into small cubes.
- 4. Mix the candied fruit with raisins, currants, almonds, breadcrumbs, sugar, and the suet.
- 5. Whisk eggs, milk, and whisky thoroughly.
- 6. Season the liquid with lemon zest and cinnamon.
- 7. Add the liquid mixture to the remaining ingredients.
- 8. Mix everything carefully.
- 9. Grease a pudding mold with its lid generously.
- 10. Coat the mold with breadcrumbs.
- 11. Fill the mixture into the mold.
- 12. Press the mixture down firmly.
- 13. Close the mold.
- 14. Cook the pudding in a water bath over low heat for 6 to 7 hours.
- 15. Store the pudding in the closed mold until you are ready to serve it.
- 16. Turn the pudding out onto a plate for serving.
- 17. Decorate it festively with powdered sugar, green marzipan leaves, and cranberries.
