  2. 2. Chop the onions very finely.
  3. 3. Heat the oil in a pot.
  4. 4. Sauté the onions in the oil until they are soft.
  5. 5. Wash the chilies.
  6. 6. Cut the chilies in half lengthwise.
  7. 7. Remove the seeds from the chilies.
  8. 8. Chop the chilies finely as well.
  9. 9. Add the tomatoes along with their juice to the onions.
  10. 10. Crush the tomatoes slightly with a spoon.
  11. 11. Add the chopped chilies to the mixture.
  12. 12. Let the mixture simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
  13. 13. Pour the broth into the pot.
  14. 14. Mix the meat in a bowl with the beaten egg.
  15. 15. Add the breadcrumbs to the meat mixture.
  16. 16. Season the meat mixture with salt and pepper.
  17. 17. Stir the parsley into the meat mixture.
  18. 18. Lightly dampen your hands.
  19. 19. Form walnut-sized meatballs from the mixture.
  20. 20. Add the meatballs to the soup.
  21. 21. Let everything simmer for another 15 minutes.
  22. 22. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
