  3. 3. Slit the chili pepper lengthwise.
  4. 4. Remove the seeds from the chili pepper.
  5. 5. Dice the flesh of the chili into tiny cubes.
  6. 6. Peel the avocados.
  7. 7. Halve the avocados lengthwise.
  8. 8. Remove the pit from the avocado halves.
  9. 9. Carefully separate the flesh from the skin.
  10. 10. Cut the lime in half.
  11. 11. Squeeze the juice from the lime.
  12. 12. Wash the cilantro.
  13. 13. Shake the cilantro dry.
  14. 14. Chop the cilantro leaves finely.
  15. 15. Save a few cilantro leaves for garnish.
  16. 16. Mix the avocado flesh with the lime juice and chopped cilantro.
  17. 17. Mash the mixture into a smooth puree.
  18. 18. Stir the finely chopped onion into the avocado puree.
  19. 19. Stir the chili cubes into the avocado puree.
  20. 20. Save some chili for garnish.
  21. 21. Season the mixture to taste with salt.
