🍽️ Fiery Chili con Carne with Black Beans

Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 600 g ground beef
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp raw cane sugar
- cayenne pepper
- 1 organic orange (zest)
- salt
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- pepper
- 400 g pureed tomatoes
- 200 g kidney beans (drained weight; can)
- 200 g black beans (drained weight; can)
- 80 g corn kernels (drained weight; can)
- 1 handful cilantro (5 g)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion and the garlic clove.
- 2. Chop both ingredients very finely.
- 3. Heat some oil in a pot.
- 4. Add the minced meat.
- 5. Fry the meat crumbly over high heat within 3 minutes.
- 6. Add the chopped onion and garlic.
- 7. Fry the mixture for another 5 minutes.
- 8. Stir in the tomato paste.
- 9. Fry the tomato paste for 2 minutes.
- 10. Season the mixture with sugar, cayenne pepper, the orange zest, salt, oregano, and pepper.
- 11. Stir in the tomatoes.
- 12. Let the chili simmer covered for about 30 minutes.
- 13. Add a little water if the sauce becomes too dry.
- 14. Rinse the black beans and corn in a sieve.
- 15. Let them drain well.
- 16. Add them to the chili.
- 17. Let everything simmer for another 10 minutes over low heat.
- 18. Wash the cilantro.
- 19. Shake it dry.
- 20. Pick off the leaves.
- 21. Finally, taste the chili.
- 22. Sprinkle it with the fresh cilantro.
