🍽️ Crispy Chicory Rolls with Cheese Cream Sauce

Ingredients
- 4 chicory
- 30 g butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 0.125 l milk
- 75 g grated Gouda
- salt
- pepper
- 4 slices cooked ham
- fat (for the dish)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the chicory under running water.
- 2. Cut out the hard base of the chicory in a wedge shape.
- 3. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
- 4. Add the chicory stalks to the boiling water for 3 minutes.
- 5. Remove the chicory from the water and rinse it immediately with cold water.
- 6. Let the chicory drain well in a colander.
- 7. Melt the butter in a pot over medium heat.
- 8. Stir the flour into the butter and let the mixture sweat briefly.
- 9. Pour the milk slowly into the pot.
- 10. Stir constantly until the sauce is smooth and thick.
- 11. Add the cheese to the hot sauce.
- 12. Let the cheese melt completely over low heat.
- 13. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- 14. Grease a baking dish with some butter.
- 15. Wrap each chicory stick with a piece of ham.
- 16. Place the ham rolls side by side in the baking dish.
- 17. Pour the cheese sauce evenly over the rolls.
- 18. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- 19. Bake the dish for 15 minutes in the preheated oven.
