  1. 1. Put the chia seeds into a bowl.
  2. 2. Add 3 tablespoons of water.
  3. 3. Stir the mixture well.
  4. 4. Let the chia seeds swell for 10 minutes.
  5. 5. Take your time for the dough in the meantime.
  6. 6. Put coconut oil, almond butter, apple puree, rice syrup, flour, and almonds into a large bowl.
  7. 7. Stir all ingredients vigorously together.
  8. 8. Form a firm dough.
  9. 9. Add the swollen chia pudding to the dough.
  10. 10. Season with a pinch of salt.
  11. 11. Add vanilla.
  12. 12. Shape the dough into a firm ball.
  13. 13. Wrap the dough ball in plastic wrap.
  14. 14. Place the dough in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  15. 15. Divide the dough into small pieces after the cooling time.
  16. 16. Shape each piece into a roll.
  17. 17. Point the ends of the rolls.
  18. 18. Bend the rolls into the typical crescent shape.
  19. 19. Place the crescents on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  20. 20. Preheat the oven to 150 °C (convection 130 °C; gas: level 1–2).
  21. 21. Bake the crescents for 15 minutes.
  22. 22. Mix ground poppy seeds with powdered sugar in a small bowl.
  23. 23. Take the crescents out of the oven.
  24. 24. Roll the still warm crescents in the poppy seed-sugar mixture.
