Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 300 g long-grain rice
- 400 g strained tomatoes
- 2 stalks parsley
- salt
- pepper
- 150 g frozen peas
- 1 garlic clove
- 600 g ground beef
- 2 shallots
- 1 tbsp sweet paprika powder
- 1 egg yolk
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion.
- 2. Dice the onion into small cubes.
- 3. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pot.
- 4. Sauté the onion cubes in the hot oil.
- 5. Add the rice to the pot.
- 6. Deglaze the mixture with 200 milliliters of water.
- 7. Add pureed tomatoes.
- 8. Bring the liquid to a boil.
- 9. Reduce the heat to low.
- 10. Cover the pot with a lid.
- 11. Let the rice cook for about 25 minutes.
- 12. Wash the parsley under running water.
- 13. Shake the parsley dry.
- 14. Pluck the parsley leaves from the stems.
- 15. Stir the parsley leaves into the rice.
- 16. Season the dish with salt.
- 17. Season the dish with pepper.
- 18. Mix the peas into the rice.
- 19. Cover the pot again.
- 20. Let the dish sit for another 10 minutes.
- 21. Peel the garlic.
- 22. Press the garlic with a garlic press directly onto the minced meat.
- 23. Peel the shallots.
- 24. Dice the shallots finely.
- 25. Add salt to the minced meat.
- 26. Add paprika powder to the minced meat.
- 27. Add the egg yolk to the minced meat.
- 28. Knead all the cevapcici ingredients together thoroughly.
- 29. Form thumb-sized rolls from the meat mixture.
- 30. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan.
- 31. Fry the cevapcici slowly in the oil.
- 32. Fry the cevapcici until golden brown on all sides.
- 33. Plate the finished cevapcici.
- 34. Serve the cevapcici together with the rice.
