🍽️ Burgers with Goat Fresh Cheese

Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 0.5 tsp dried thyme
- 400 g minced meat (beef)
- breadcrumbs (as needed)
- salt
- pepper
- 4 lettuce leaves (e.g. Lollo bionda)
- 1 tomato
- 1 mild green chili pepper (from the jar)
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 150 g goat cheese
- 4 burger buns (whole grain as desired)
- 4 tbsp grainy mustard
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion and dice it into fine cubes.
- 2. Sauté the onion cubes in one tablespoon of hot oil until they are soft and translucent.
- 3. Let the onion mixture cool down briefly.
- 4. Mix the minced meat with the egg, the thyme, and the cooled onions.
- 5. Gradually add breadcrumbs until the mixture is easy to shape.
- 6. Season the meat mixture with salt and pepper.
- 7. Form four burger patties from the mixture.
- 8. Fry the patties in the remaining oil in a hot pan.
- 9. Turn the patties occasionally and fry them for 6 to 8 minutes until golden brown on both sides.
- 10. Wash the lettuce and remove the tough stems.
- 11. Shake the lettuce dry and tear the leaves into small pieces.
- 12. Wash the tomato and remove the stem area.
- 13. Slice the tomato.
- 14. Wash the chili pepper and halve it.
- 15. Remove the seeds from the chili and chop it finely.
- 16. Mix the chopped chili with the oil and the fresh cheese mixture.
- 17. Season the fresh cheese chili mixture with salt and pepper.
- 18. Slice the buns horizontally.
- 19. Toast the cut sides of the buns until golden brown.
- 20. Spread mustard on the bottom half of the buns.
- 21. Place one patty on each bun half.
- 22. Spread the fresh cheese chili mixture onto the patties.
- 23. Place the tomato slices on top of the fresh cheese layer.
- 24. Add the lettuce on top of the tomato slices.
- 25. Close the burgers with the top bun halves.
- 26. Serve the burgers.
- 27. Serve the burger with a fresh tomato salad on the side, if desired.
