🍽️ Juicy Lamb Burgers with Crisp Lettuce

Ingredients
- 1 stale roll
- 400 g lamb mince
- 1 egg
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp curry powder
- Breadcrumbs
- Salt
- Pepper (from the mill)
- Oil (for frying)
- 4 rolls
- 4 leaves iceberg lettuce
- 4 tbsp ketchup
Instructions
- 1. Place the stale bun in a bowl and cover it with lukewarm water.
- 2. Squeeze the soaked bun firmly with your hands until no more water comes out.
- 3. Add the squeezed bun to a large mixing bowl.
- 4. Add the lamb mince to the bowl.
- 5. Crack an egg into the mixture.
- 6. Take half of the fresh coriander leaves and chop them finely.
- 7. Add the chopped coriander to the meat mixture.
- 8. Finely chop the garlic clove.
- 9. Add the chopped garlic to the bowl.
- 10. Take the thyme sprigs and strip off the leaves.
- 11. Add the thyme leaves to the mixture.
- 12. Add the curry powder to the bowl.
- 13. Mix all ingredients thoroughly with your hands.
- 14. Check if the mixture is easy to shape.
- 15. If the mixture is too wet, add breadcrumbs gradually until it is firm enough.
- 16. Season the meat mixture with salt.
- 17. Season the meat mixture with black pepper.
- 18. Divide the meat mixture into eight equal portions.
- 19. Shape each portion into a small, flat patty.
- 20. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
- 21. Place the patties in the hot pan.
- 22. Fry the patties for two to three minutes on the first side until golden brown.
- 23. Flip the patties.
- 24. Fry the patties for another two to three minutes on the second side until cooked through.
- 25. Remove the cooked patties from the pan and keep them warm.
- 26. Slice the buns horizontally in the middle.
- 27. Heat a separate frying pan over medium heat.
- 28. Place the bun halves with the cut side down in the pan.
- 29. Toast the buns until the cut side is golden brown and crispy.
- 30. Remove the buns from the pan.
- 31. Wash the lettuce under cold water.
- 32. Dry the lettuce thoroughly.
- 33. Remove the tough, hard stems from the lettuce.
- 34. Cut the lettuce leaves into thin strips.
- 35. Place the bottom bun halves on a plate.
- 36. Add a portion of chopped lettuce to each bottom bun half.
- 37. Place a fried patty on top of the lettuce.
- 38. Drizzle some ketchup over the patty.
- 39. Place the top bun halves on the burgers.
- 40. Serve the burgers immediately while warm.
