  1. 1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into elongated pieces.
  2. 2. Peel the kohlrabi and cut it into sticks.
  3. 3. Peel the carrots and cut thick slices.
  4. 4. Peel the onions, halve them lengthwise, and cut them into wedges.
  5. 5. Wash the snow peas, trim the ends, and cut them diagonally into pieces.
  6. 6. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter fat in an iron skillet.
  7. 7. Add the onions, carrots, and kohlrabi.
  8. 8. Fry over medium heat, stirring, for about 8 minutes.
  9. 9. Add the potatoes and snow peas.
  10. 10. Add remaining butter fat if necessary.
  11. 11. Fry for another 8 to 10 minutes.
  12. 12. Season with salt and pepper.
  13. 13. Serve the vegetable hash sprinkled with chives.
