  5. 5. Stir in breadcrumbs and beaten egg alternately into the butter.
  6. 6. Add the ground liver.
  7. 7. Mix everything well.
  8. 8. Season with lemon zest, marjoram, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  9. 9. If the mixture is too soft, add more breadcrumbs.
  10. 10. Bring the broth to a boil.
  11. 11. Season the broth with salt and pepper.
  12. 12. Add the dough to the boiling broth using a spaetzle press or a spaetzle cutter.
  13. 13. Let the spaetzle cook gently for 5 to 10 minutes.
