🍰 Crunchy Chocolate Walnut Brownies

Ingredients
- 80 g soft butter
- 80 g whole cane sugar
- 1 vanilla pod
- 2 eggs
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 150 g spelt flour Type 1050
- 20 g cocoa powder
- 0.5 tsp baking powder
- salt
- 100 g walnuts
Instructions
- 1. Chop the chocolate into coarse pieces.
- 2. Melt the chocolate pieces gently over a pot of hot water or in short intervals in the microwave.
- 3. Remove the bowl with the chocolate from the heat and set it aside.
- 4. Beat the butter and the whole cane sugar with an electric mixer until creamy and airy.
- 5. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise.
- 6. Scrape out the tiny seeds with a knife.
- 7. Stir the vanilla seeds into the butter-sugar mixture.
- 8. Add the eggs.
- 9. Mix the eggs in until creamy.
- 10. Gently fold the melted chocolate into the mixture using a spoon.
- 11. Add spelt flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- 12. Mix everything into a smooth batter.
- 13. Roughly chop the walnuts.
- 14. Fold the walnuts into the batter at the end.
- 15. Pour the batter into a baking pan lined with parchment paper.
- 16. Bake the brownies in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius conventional heat (or 160 degrees Celsius fan-assisted; gas level 2 to 3) for about 40 minutes.
- 17. Remove the brownies from the oven.
- 18. Let them cool in the pan.
- 19. Cut them into individual pieces.
- 20. Dust them lightly with cocoa powder if desired.
- 21. Serve immediately.
