🍰 Chocolate Brownies with Fresh Orange Dip

Ingredients
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 125 g soft butter
- 150 g brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 100 g flour
- 0.5 tsp real Bourbon vanilla
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 150 g ground hazelnuts
- Fat (for the baking pan)
- 4 sweet oranges (e.g. Navel)
- 5 tbsp sugar
- 5 tbsp water
- 0.125 l freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 tbsp Cointreau
- Orange peel (for garnishing)
Instructions
- 1. Chop the chocolate into coarse pieces.
- 2. Place the chocolate pieces into a heat-resistant metal bowl.
- 3. Fill a pot with about five centimeters of water.
- 4. Gently warm the water in the pot.
- 5. Place the metal bowl with the chocolate into the hot water.
- 6. Ensure that no water gets into the bowl with the chocolate.
- 7. Melt the chocolate in a water bath while stirring constantly.
- 8. Set the melted chocolate aside briefly.
- 9. Take a separate bowl.
- 10. Beat the butter with the brown sugar until creamy and smooth.
- 11. Add the eggs to the butter mixture.
- 12. Stir in the eggs.
- 13. Add the melted chocolate to the mixture.
- 14. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 15. Mix the flour with the baking powder.
- 16. Add a pinch of salt to the flour mixture.
- 17. Add vanilla to the flour mixture.
- 18. Combine the dry ingredients with the chocolate mixture.
- 19. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.
- 20. Bake the brownies in the preheated oven.
- 21. Peel the oranges.
- 22. Remove all the white pith so that only the fruit flesh remains.
- 23. Cut the oranges into segments.
- 24. Carefully separate the flesh from the skin using a sharp knife.
- 25. Heat the sugar over low heat.
- 26. Wait until the sugar has melted.
- 27. Immediately add the orange juice.
- 28. Add the water.
- 29. Bring the mixture to a brief boil.
- 30. Add the orange segments.
- 31. Add the Cointreau.
- 32. Let everything simmer gently.
- 33. Simmer until half of the liquid has evaporated.
- 34. Serve the brownies with the warm orange sauce.
- 35. Garnish the brownies with orange zest.
