🍰 Chocolate Brownies with Icing

Ingredients
- 200 g dark chocolate
- 100 g butter
- 160 g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 100 g flour
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder (dark)
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- 1. Break the chocolate into small pieces.
- 2. Place a bowl over a pot with hot, but not boiling water.
- 3. Let the chocolate melt slowly with the addition of 2 tablespoons of water.
- 4. Add the butter and sugar.
- 5. Stir until everything is melted and smooth.
- 6. Separate the eggs.
- 7. Stir the egg yolks together with the flour into the chocolate mixture.
- 8. Beat the egg whites until very stiff.
- 9. Gently fold the egg whites into the mixture.
- 10. Line a rectangular cake pan with baking paper.
- 11. Pour the chocolate mixture into the pan.
- 12. Place the pan in a cold oven.
- 13. Turn the oven on to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 14. Bake the brownies for about 40 to 50 minutes.
- 15. Check with a wooden skewer if any liquid batter sticks to it.
- 16. Remove the brownies from the oven.
- 17. Let them cool for a short while.
- 18. Carefully turn them out onto a wire rack.
- 19. Remove the baking paper.
- 20. Let the brownies cool completely.
- 21. Stir all the ingredients for the icing until smooth.
- 22. Add a little water if the icing is too thick.
- 23. Spread the icing evenly over the cooled cake.
- 24. Let the icing dry.
- 25. Cut the brownies into 20 equal pieces.
