  4. 4. Boil the asparagus in salted water for about 8 minutes.

  6. 6. Rinse the asparagus briefly with cold water to stop the cooking process.
  7. 7. Let the asparagus drain well.
  8. 8. Cut the asparagus into pieces about 2 centimeters long.
  9. 9. Cut the ham into thin strips.
  10. 10. Whisk the cream, eggs, and cheese in a bowl.
  11. 11. Add the thyme to the cream-egg mixture.
  12. 12. Season the mixture with nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  13. 13. Cut the white bread into cubes about 2 centimeters in size.
  14. 14. Place the bread cubes in the prepared baking dish.
  15. 15. Scatter the ham and asparagus over the bread.
  16. 16. Pour the cream-egg mixture over everything.
