🍽️ Crunchy Toast Slices with Fresh Pepper Quark Cream

Ingredients
- 1 large red bell pepper
- 0.5 bunch chives
- 250 g quark (20% fat)
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 4 slices whole grain bread (loaf shape)
- 2 tbsp sunflower seeds
- paprika powder (for dusting)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the pepper under running water.
- 2. Cut the pepper in half lengthwise.
- 3. Remove the stem, seeds, and white inner membrane from the pepper.
- 4. Dice one half of the pepper into small cubes.
- 5. Slice the other half of the pepper into thin strips.
- 6. Wash the chives.
- 7. Shake the chives dry.
- 8. Set aside a few whole chive stalks for decoration.
- 9. Chop the remaining chives into fine rings.
- 10. Mix the diced pepper with the quark.
- 11. Stir the chive rings into the quark mixture.
- 12. Season the cream with a pinch of salt.
- 13. Season the cream with freshly ground pepper.
- 14. Add a squeeze of lemon juice.
- 15. Stir everything well until the seasoning is distributed.
- 16. Toast the bread slices until crunchy.
- 17. Cut the toasted bread slices in half.
- 18. Spread the pepper quark cream onto the bread halves.
- 19. Sprinkle sunflower seeds over the bread.
- 20. Place the reserved chive stalks on the bread.
- 21. Decorate the dish with the pepper strips.
- 22. Dust a little paprika powder over the finished slices.
