Ingredients
- 250 g goose fat (flomen)
- 1 apple
- 1 onion
- 2 sprigs marjoram
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 4 slices country bread
Instructions
- 1. Cut the goose fat into small cubes.
- 2. Peel the apple and the onion.
- 3. Chop the apple and the onion finely.
- 4. Place the goose fat, apple, onion, and a sprig of marjoram into a pot.
- 5. Slowly melt the ingredients over low heat.
- 6. Stir the mixture occasionally.
- 7. Let the mixture simmer gently for about 10 minutes.
- 8. Strain the fat through a sieve to remove the solid ingredients.
- 9. Season the spread with salt and pepper.
- 10. Let the spread cool down completely.
- 11. Spread the cold fat onto the bread slices.
- 12. Pluck the marjoram leaves.
- 13. Garnish the bread slices with the marjoram leaves.
