🍽️ Crunchy Toast with Sardine Cream, Capers, and Dill

Ingredients
- 4 slices bread (e.g. wood-fired bread or wheat bread)
- 1 can sardine (skinless and boneless in oil)
- 250 g cream cheese
- 2 tbsp capers
- 3 sprigs dill
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
Instructions
- 1. Turn on the toaster or place a pan on the stove.
- 2. Toast the bread slices until they are golden brown and crunchy.
- 3. Take the sardines out of the can and let them drain well in a sieve.
- 4. Mash the sardines into a fine paste in a bowl using a fork.
- 5. Stir the sardine paste thoroughly into the cream cheese mixture.
- 6. Take half of the capers and chop them finely on a cutting board.
- 7. Carefully pick the dill leaves off the tough stems.
- 8. Chop the dill leaves finely as well.
- 9. Fold the chopped capers and dill into the cheese-sardine mixture.
- 10. Season the cream to taste with salt and black pepper.
- 11. Spread the finished cream evenly onto the toasted bread slices.
- 12. Top the toasts with the remaining whole capers and fresh dill leaves.
- 13. Serve the dish immediately while warm.
