🍳 Blackberry Apple Jam

Ingredients
- 1 kg blackberries
- 2 sour apples
- 500 g jam sugar (2:1)
- 1 lemon (juice)
- 60 ml Calvados
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the blackberries under cold running water.
- 2. Gently pat the berries dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Remove all hard stems from the blackberries.
- 4. Peel the apples completely.
- 5. Cut the apples into four equal quarters.
- 6. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
- 7. Dice the apple pieces into small cubes.
- 8. Place the diced apples into a large pot.
- 9. Add the prepared blackberries to the pot.
- 10. Add the sugar to the fruit mixture.
- 11. Squeeze the lemon juice over the ingredients and add it.
- 12. Stir all ingredients in the pot thoroughly together.
- 13. Let the fruit mixture rest for about one hour.
- 14. Then gently mash the soft fruits with a potato masher.
- 15. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly.
- 16. Let the jam bubble vigorously for approx. 4 minutes.
- 17. Stir the Calvados into the boiling jam.
- 18. Perform a gel test to check the firmness.
- 19. Fill the hot jam into jars that have been rinsed with hot water.
- 20. Seal the jars tightly with lids.
- 21. Let the jam in the jars cool down completely.
