  1. 1. Rinse the blackberries under cold running water.
  2. 2. Gently pat the berries dry with a kitchen towel.
  3. 3. Remove all hard stems from the blackberries.
  4. 4. Peel the apples completely.
  5. 5. Cut the apples into four equal quarters.
  6. 6. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
  7. 7. Dice the apple pieces into small cubes.
  8. 8. Place the diced apples into a large pot.
  9. 9. Add the prepared blackberries to the pot.
  10. 10. Add the sugar to the fruit mixture.
  11. 11. Squeeze the lemon juice over the ingredients and add it.
  12. 12. Stir all ingredients in the pot thoroughly together.
  13. 13. Let the fruit mixture rest for about one hour.
  14. 14. Then gently mash the soft fruits with a potato masher.
  15. 15. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly.
  16. 16. Let the jam bubble vigorously for approx. 4 minutes.
  17. 17. Stir the Calvados into the boiling jam.
  18. 18. Perform a gel test to check the firmness.
  19. 19. Fill the hot jam into jars that have been rinsed with hot water.
  20. 20. Seal the jars tightly with lids.
  21. 21. Let the jam in the jars cool down completely.
