🍽️ Crispy sausages with sweet and sour onions

Ingredients
- 4 onions
- 4 pan-fried sausages
- 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
- salt
- pepper
- 1 pinch sugar
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 4 slices country bread
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onions and cut them in half lengthwise.
- 2. Slice the onion halves into thin strips.
- 3. Rinse the sausages under running water.
- 4. Pat the sausages completely dry with a kitchen towel.
- 5. Make several small cuts across the surface of the sausages.
- 6. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- 7. Fry the sausages in the pan for 4 to 6 minutes until golden brown.
- 8. Turn the sausages frequently while frying so they cook evenly.
- 9. Remove the cooked sausages from the pan and set them aside to keep warm.
- 10. Add the sliced onions to the remaining frying fat in the pan.
- 11. Fry the onions over low to medium heat, stirring constantly.
- 12. Continue cooking the onions until they are soft and lightly browned.
- 13. Season the onions with salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar.
- 14. Plate the sausages and serve them with the caramelized onions.
- 15. Serve the dish with mustard and fresh bread.
