🍽️ Crispy pan-fried sausages with fluffy mashed potatoes

Ingredients
- 3 Onions
- 1 Tbsp Mustard Seeds
- 16 Nuremberg Roast Sausages
- 3 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 600 g waxy potatoes
- Salt
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- 140 ml lukewarm Milk
- 2 Tbsp freshly chopped Parsley
- Pepper (from the mill)
- Nutmeg (freshly grated)
Instructions
- 1. Turn on the oven and set the temperature to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings.
- 3. Lightly grease a baking tray with oil.
- 4. Place the onion rings, mustard seeds, and sausages side by side on the tray.
- 5. Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake everything for about 25 minutes.
- 6. Turn the sausages repeatedly during the baking time so they brown on all sides.
- 7. Peel the potatoes and rinse them under running water.
- 8. Cut the potatoes into large, irregular chunks.
- 9. Put the potato chunks into a pot with salted water.
- 10. Boil the potatoes for about 25 minutes until they are soft.
- 11. Drain the cooking water and let the potatoes steam dry in the pot for a moment.
- 12. Press the warm potatoes through a potato ricer into a bowl.
- 13. Stir the butter and milk into the potatoes.
- 14. Mix everything until the mash is completely smooth and creamy.
- 15. Gently fold the chopped parsley into the mash.
- 16. Season the mash finally with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg.
- 17. Serve the mashed potatoes directly together with the fried sausages.
