  2. 2. Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings.
  3. 3. Lightly grease a baking tray with oil.
  4. 4. Place the onion rings, mustard seeds, and sausages side by side on the tray.
  5. 5. Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake everything for about 25 minutes.
  6. 6. Turn the sausages repeatedly during the baking time so they brown on all sides.
  7. 7. Peel the potatoes and rinse them under running water.
  8. 8. Cut the potatoes into large, irregular chunks.
  9. 9. Put the potato chunks into a pot with salted water.
  10. 10. Boil the potatoes for about 25 minutes until they are soft.
  11. 11. Drain the cooking water and let the potatoes steam dry in the pot for a moment.
  12. 12. Press the warm potatoes through a potato ricer into a bowl.
  13. 13. Stir the butter and milk into the potatoes.
  14. 14. Mix everything until the mash is completely smooth and creamy.
  15. 15. Gently fold the chopped parsley into the mash.
  16. 16. Season the mash finally with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg.
  17. 17. Serve the mashed potatoes directly together with the fried sausages.
