🍽️ Roast chicken with cheese topping

Ingredients
- 1 roast chicken (ready for kitchen, approx. 1,4 kg)
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- vegetable oil (for the casserole dish)
- 350 g mushrooms
- 1 garlic clove
- 100 g freshly grated cheese (e.g. Gouda)
- thyme (for garnishing)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Wash the chicken, pat it dry, season inside and out with salt and pepper, and place it breast-side down in an oiled roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for approx. 60 minutes.
- 3. Clean and quarter the mushrooms.
- 4. Peel the garlic, press it to the mushrooms, season with salt and pepper. Turn the chicken after half the cooking time and sprinkle with cheese. Arrange the mushrooms around the chicken and finish roasting.
- 5. Serve the chicken garnished with thyme.
