🍽️ Oven Apples Stuffed with Chicken Liver

Ingredients
- 4 large Boskop apples
- 250 g chicken liver
- 200 g blood sausage
- 6 slices toast bread
- 3 eggs
- parsley
- breadcrumbs
- 1 onion
- salt
- pepper
- 100 ml cider
- basil
Instructions
- 1. Thoroughly wash the chicken liver under running water.
- 2. Push the liver through the fine blade of your meat grinder.
- 3. Peel the onion.
- 4. Grind the peeled onion together with the toast bread using the meat grinder.
- 5. Cut the blood sausage into small cubes.
- 6. Wash the parsley under cold water.
- 7. Shake the parsley dry.
- 8. Finely chop the parsley.
- 9. Mix the liver, the onion-bread mixture, the blood sausage cubes, and the parsley in a bowl.
- 10. Add the eggs to the mixture.
- 11. Mix all filling ingredients well together.
- 12. Wash the apples thoroughly.
- 13. Cut the apples in half.
- 14. Remove the core of the apple halves using a melon baller.
- 15. Lightly grease a baking dish.
- 16. Place the apple halves side by side in the prepared dish.
- 17. Fill the apple halves with the liver mixture.
- 18. Season the filling lightly with pepper.
- 19. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius.
- 20. Place the dish in the preheated oven.
- 21. Bake the apples for about 30 to 40 minutes.
- 22. Take the dish out of the oven.
- 23. Taste the filling again.
- 24. Pour some apple wine over the apples if necessary.
- 25. Bake the stuffed apples for another 30 minutes in the oven.
- 26. Take the finished apples out of the oven.
- 27. Garnish the apples with fresh basil.
- 28. Serve the apples warm.
