  1. 1. Cook the spaghetti in plenty of salted boiling water until they are still firm to the bite (al dente). Follow the instructions on the package.
  2. 2. Wash the basil under running water and shake it well to dry. Pluck the leaves off the stems. Set aside a few nice leaves for decoration and chop the rest roughly.
  3. 3. Put the basil leaves, pine nuts, and olive oil into a blender or stick blender. Puree everything into a fine paste. Finally, season the pesto to taste with salt and pepper.
  4. 4. Drain the pasta, let it drip dry for a moment, and put it in a large bowl. Stir the pesto into the pasta. Garnish the pasta with the reserved basil leaves. Grate the Parmesan fresh or shave thin slices from it and serve alongside.
