  1. 1. Peel the pears, cut them into quarters, and remove the core. Dice the fruit into small pieces. Place the pear pieces, water, white wine, and pectin sugar into a pot. Add the slit vanilla pod and the cloves.
  2. 2. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it bubble vigorously for four minutes. Remove the spices. Fill the puree into prepared jars and seal them tightly. Let the jars cool upside down on their lids.
