🍽️ Crispy Spring Rolls with Pear and Cheese

Ingredients
- 2 ripe pears
- 20 sheets spring roll pastry (frozen)
- 1 egg white
- 80 g freshly grated goat gouda
- 1 tsp cumin
- vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the pears.
- 2. Cut the pears in half.
- 3. Remove the core.
- 4. Cut the flesh into finger-thick strips.
- 5. Lay a spring roll wrapper flat.
- 6. Whisk the egg white.
- 7. Brush the outer edges of the wrapper with the egg white.
- 8. Place one pear strip on the bottom third of the wrapper.
- 9. Sprinkle the pear with cheese.
- 10. Season the filling with cumin.
- 11. Fold the left and right sides of the wrapper over the filling.
- 12. Roll the spring roll tightly from the bottom to the top.
- 13. Heat oil in a pan to approximately 170 degrees Celsius.
- 14. Fry the spring rolls in batches in the hot oil.
- 15. Fry the rolls for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown.
- 16. Turn the rolls so they brown evenly on all sides.
- 17. Place the finished rolls on kitchen paper.
- 18. Let the excess fat drain off.
