  4. 4. Divide each pear half into three equal wedges.
  5. 5. Remove the core from the wedges using a knife or a melon baller.
  6. 6. Drizzle the pear wedges immediately with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  7. 7. Peel the physalis fruits from their papery husks.
  8. 8. Rinse the husked physalis fruits briefly.
  9. 9. Pat the physalis fruits dry with a kitchen towel.
  10. 10. Cut the Gorgonzola cheese into 12 small rectangular pieces.
  11. 11. Thread one piece of cheese onto each small wooden skewer.
  12. 12. Thread one physalis fruit onto the skewer above the cheese piece.
  13. 13. Insert the free end of the skewer firmly into one of the prepared pear wedges.
  14. 14. Arrange the finished bites attractively on a serving plate.
