🍽️ Smarter stew with pears, beans and smoked pork

Ingredients
- 3 onions
- 1 l classic vegetable broth
- 400 g chicken Kassler
- 500 g green beans
- 3 pears
- 3 sprigs savory
- salt
- pepper
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onions and cut them into thin strips.
- 2. Pour the vegetable broth into a large pot and bring it to a boil.
- 3. Add the onion strips to the boiling broth.
- 4. Let the onions simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes.
- 5. Trim the beans and rinse them under running water.
- 6. Let the beans drain well.
- 7. Cut or break the beans into bite-sized pieces.
- 8. Add the prepared beans to the pot.
- 9. Cook everything for another 5 minutes.
- 10. Wash the pears and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- 11. Halve the pears and remove the core.
- 12. Cut the pear halves into wedges.
- 13. Rinse the savory and shake it dry.
- 14. Pick the leaves off the savory.
- 15. Finely chop the savory leaves.
- 16. Add the pear wedges and the chopped savory to the stew.
- 17. Cook everything for about 8 minutes.
- 18. Season the dish with salt and pepper.
- 19. Slice the smoked pork belly.
- 20. Add the smoked pork slices to the hot broth.
- 21. Taste the dish again with salt and pepper.
- 22. Let the meat steep in the broth for 3 minutes.
- 23. Divide the smoked pork slices among deep plates.
- 24. Ladle the bean and pear broth over the meat.
- 25. Serve the dish with potatoes.
- 26. Mix 1 to 2 teaspoons of cornstarch with a little cold water until smooth.
- 27. Stir the starch solution into the stew broth.
- 28. Bring the broth to a brief boil to thicken it slightly.
