🍳 Bircher-Müsli – the smart version

Ingredients
- 100 g coarse oat flakes
- 300 ml milk (1.5% fat; possibly 2-3 tbsp extra)
- 1 lemon
- 300 g small tart apples (2 small tart apples)
- 40 g hazelnut kernels
Instructions
- 1. Place the oat flakes in a bowl. Stir in the milk and let the mixture swell overnight in the fridge with a lid on. If the mixture seems too dry, you can add 2 to 3 tablespoons of milk as desired.
- 2. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice. Pour the juice into a small bowl.
- 3. Wash the apples and pat them dry. Cut them into quarters, remove the core, and cut into small pieces. Immediately mix the pieces with the lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown.
- 4. Roughly chop the hazelnuts using a large knife or a food processor.
- 5. Stir the apple pieces into the oat flakes. Divide the muesli onto two plates, sprinkle the hazelnuts on top, and serve.
