- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt
- pepper
- 1 pinch raw cane sugar
- 125 g long-grain rice (cooking bag)
- 4 sprigs basil
- 200 g coarse raw veal sausage (2 pieces)
- 1 tbsp rapeseed oil
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion and garlic and dice them very finely.

- 4. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems, wash them, shake them dry well, and chop them finely.
- 5. Heat rapeseed oil in a large pan. Brown the veal balls in batches on all sides until golden brown (approx. 8 minutes). Remove and set aside on a plate.
- 6. Add the tomato cubes and half of the basil to the pan. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar. Simmer everything over medium heat for 5 minutes until the tomatoes are soft.
- 7. Cook rice according to package instructions in boiling salted water. Drain, toss with a little oil, and divide among 4 plates. Top with veal balls and tomato sauce. Sprinkle with the remaining basil and serve immediately.
