Ingredients
- 800 g fresh fig
- 1 untreated orange
- 2 rosemary sprigs
- 5 thyme sprigs
- 500 ml white balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- 1. Wash the figs thoroughly and pat them dry. Cut them in half. Wash the orange under hot water and peel off two thin strips of zest, each about five centimeters long, using a vegetable peeler. Wash the rosemary and thyme sprigs and shake them dry.
- 2. Pour half of the vinegar into a small pot and heat it up. Stir in the sugar and salt until they dissolve. Then place the halved figs into the hot vinegar.
- 3. Place the herb sprigs and orange zest into two jars that have been previously sterilized with boiling water. Fill in the figs and pour the warm vinegar over them until they are completely covered. Seal the jars tightly and let the mixture infuse in a cool place for two weeks.
