🍽️ Juicy Steak Baguettes with Colorful Pepper and Onion Mix

Ingredients
- 500 g Beef Fillet (kitchen-ready, middle piece)
- Salt
- Pepper (from the mill)
- 20 g Ghee
- 3 Onions
- 1 Red Bell Pepper
- 1 Yellow Bell Pepper
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 Baguette (halved lengthwise and crosswise
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the meat under cold water.
- 2. Pat the meat completely dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Season the fillet generously with salt and pepper.
- 4. Heat ghee in a grill pan.
- 5. Sear the fillet on each side over high heat until it forms a brown crust.
- 6. Reduce the heat of the pan.
- 7. Continue cooking the meat until the inside is still pink.
- 8. Peel the onions.
- 9. Slice the onions into thin strips.
- 10. Wash the peppers.
- 11. Halve the peppers.
- 12. Remove the seeds from the peppers.
- 13. Cut the flesh of the peppers into bite-sized pieces.
- 14. Heat some oil in a second grill pan.
- 15. Place the baguette halves cut-side down in the pan.
- 16. Toast the buns until golden brown.
- 17. Remove the baguette halves from the pan.
- 18. Set the toasted buns aside.
- 19. Add the onion strips to the pan.
- 20. Add the pepper pieces to the pan.
- 21. Sweat the vegetables over medium heat, turning occasionally, until they are golden yellow.
- 22. Season the vegetables with salt and pepper.
- 23. Remove the meat from the pan.
- 24. Let the meat rest briefly.
- 25. Slice the meat into thin pieces.
- 26. Distribute the sautéed vegetables evenly over the toasted baguette halves.
- 27. Place the meat slices on top of the vegetables.
- 28. Serve the buns as desired with ketchup or tomato sauce.
