  2. 2. Wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water.
  3. 3. Using a sharp knife, make several shallow cuts into the potatoes without cutting all the way through.
  4. 4. Rinse the sage leaves briefly under cold water.
  5. 5. Shake off excess water and pluck the leaves from the stems.
  6. 6. Insert two to three sage leaves into the cuts of each potato.
  7. 7. Season the potatoes with salt.
  8. 8. Drizzle the potatoes lightly with oil.
  9. 9. Place the potatoes on a lightly oiled baking sheet.
  10. 10. Bake the potatoes in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
  11. 11. Remove the finished potatoes from the oven.
  12. 12. Serve the potatoes immediately.
