  1. 1. Place the pepper and fennel in a mortar and crush them for a few seconds. Crack the cardamom pods open using the back of a knife. Wash the ginger and cut it into small cubes.
  2. 2. Add the spices to a hot pot and toast them briefly over medium heat. Then add the ginger and about 1.2 liters of water and bring the mixture to a boil. Let the tea simmer over low heat for about 25 to 30 minutes.
  3. 3. Strain the homemade tea and pour it into four cups.
