🍽️ Crunchy Australian Nut Bread with Spring Onions

Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 20 g soft butter
- 300 ml cold milk
- 2 spring onions
- 100 macadamia nuts
Instructions
- 1. Put the flour, the salt, and the baking powder into a large bowl.
- 2. Take the soft butter and the milk.
- 3. Beat the butter and milk with the hand mixer until you have a smooth mixture.
- 4. Stir the butter-milk mixture into the flour mixture.
- 5. If the dough is still too sticky, add a little more flour and stir it in.
- 6. Cover the bowl.
- 7. Put the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- 8. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
- 9. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- 10. Wash the spring onions thoroughly.
- 11. Trim the hard ends of the spring onions.
- 12. Chop the spring onions finely.
- 13. Take the dough out of the fridge.
- 14. Add the chopped spring onions and the macadamia nuts to the dough.
- 15. Mix everything well together.
- 16. Shape the dough into a loaf.
- 17. Place the bread on the prepared baking tray.
- 18. Brush the surface of the bread with a little water.
- 19. Bake the bread in the oven for about 35 minutes until golden brown.
- 20. Take the bread out of the oven.
- 21. Let the bread cool down completely.
- 22. Serve the bread warm or cold, depending on your preference.
- 23. A dip goes well with this, for example an apricot chutney.
