🍰 Crispy Polish-style Pastry Rings

Ingredients
- 200 g flour
- 3 egg yolks
- 3 tbsp heavy cream
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tbsp rum
- flour (for working)
- ghee (for frying)
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- 1. Place the sifted flour, egg yolks, cream, baking powder, salt, and rum in a bowl.
- 2. Knead the ingredients into a firm and pliable dough.
- 3. Lightly dust a work surface with flour.
- 4. Roll the dough out thinly on the floured surface.
- 5. Cut the dough into strips measuring approximately 2 by 12 centimeters.
- 6. Make a lengthwise cut in the center of each dough strip.
- 7. Thread one end of the strip through the opening to form a small loop.
- 8. Heat the fat to about 170 degrees Celsius.
- 9. Fry the rings in batches in the hot fat.
- 10. Cook the rings for 2 to 3 minutes until they are golden brown.
- 11. Let the finished rings drain on kitchen paper.
- 12. Dust the rings with powdered sugar.
- 13. Serve the rings immediately.
