  6. 6. Trim the tough ends from the pak choi.
  7. 7. Bring water to a boil and salt it generously.
  8. 8. Cook the pak choi in the boiling water for about 5 minutes (this is called blanching).
  9. 9. Remove the pak choi from the water.
  10. 10. Let the pak choi drain well.
  11. 11. Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions.
  12. 12. Let the egg noodles drain as well.
  13. 13. Heat a non-stick pan.
  14. 14. Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan.
  15. 15. Fry the steaks for about 3 minutes on each side.
  16. 16. Wrap the cooked meat in aluminum foil.
  17. 17. Reduce the heat on the stove.
  18. 18. Deglaze the pan with 2 tablespoons of sake.
  19. 19. Add 2 tablespoons of water to the pan.
  20. 20. Dissolve the browned bits stuck to the bottom of the pan with the liquid.

  33. 33. Stir the chili strips into the mixture.
  34. 34. Let the mixture sit for a short moment.
  35. 35. Taste the sauce again and adjust with salt.
  36. 36. Optional: Heat a grill pan.
  37. 37. Fry the steaks without fat in the grill pan.
  38. 38. Combine sake and water in a pot.
  39. 39. Add soy sauce, ginger, and garlic to the liquid.
  40. 40. Boil this mixture for about 1 minute.
  41. 41. Add the juice obtained from slicing the meat to the sauce.
  42. 42. Add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil to the sauce.
