  1. 1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. 2. Whisk the milk and eggs together vigorously in a bowl.
  3. 3. Spread the almond flakes out on a flat plate.
  4. 4. Dip a bread slice briefly into the milk-egg mixture.
  5. 5. Turn the wet slice in the almond flakes until it is coated.
  6. 6. Fry the slice in the hot pan for about 3 minutes on one side until golden brown.
  7. 7. Fry the other side for another 3 minutes until golden brown.
  8. 8. Place the finished roll on kitchen paper to absorb excess fat.
  9. 9. Rinse the red currants under cold water.
  10. 10. Warm the berries with a little water in a small saucepan over low heat.
  11. 11. Sweeten the berries with sugar to taste.
  12. 12. Place the French toast on the plates.
  13. 13. Dust the rolls with powdered sugar.
  14. 14. Serve the dish.
