🍰 Grandma's French Toast

Ingredients
- 100 ml milk (3.5% fat)
- 2 eggs
- 4 tbsp almond flakes
- 4 slices wheat mixed bread
- 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 200 g red currants
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp raw cane sugar (to taste)
- powdered sugar
Instructions
- 1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- 2. Whisk the milk and eggs together vigorously in a bowl.
- 3. Spread the almond flakes out on a flat plate.
- 4. Dip a bread slice briefly into the milk-egg mixture.
- 5. Turn the wet slice in the almond flakes until it is coated.
- 6. Fry the slice in the hot pan for about 3 minutes on one side until golden brown.
- 7. Fry the other side for another 3 minutes until golden brown.
- 8. Place the finished roll on kitchen paper to absorb excess fat.
- 9. Rinse the red currants under cold water.
- 10. Warm the berries with a little water in a small saucepan over low heat.
- 11. Sweeten the berries with sugar to taste.
- 12. Place the French toast on the plates.
- 13. Dust the rolls with powdered sugar.
- 14. Serve the dish.
