🍽️ Stuffed bread slices with breadcrumbs and plum compote

Ingredients
- 500 g Plum
- 2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 4 tbsp Honey
- 1 pinch Cinnamon
- 250 ml Milk (3.5 % Fat)
- 2 Egg
- 1 pinch Salt
- 8 slices Whole Grain Twice-Baked Bread
- 3 tbsp Almond Flakes
- 2 tbsp Ghee
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the plums under running water.
- 2. Cut the plums in half.
- 3. Remove the pits from the plum halves.
- 4. Place the pitted plums into a pot.
- 5. Add the lemon juice to the plums.
- 6. Add two tablespoons of honey to the pot.
- 7. Add cinnamon to the pot.
- 8. Add about 80 milliliters of water to the pot.
- 9. Place the pot over medium heat.
- 10. Let the plum mixture simmer gently for 8 to 10 minutes.
- 11. Whisk the milk with the eggs.
- 12. Add two tablespoons of honey to the milk-egg mixture.
- 13. Add a pinch of salt to the milk-egg mixture.
- 14. Dip the breadcrumbs into the milk-egg mixture.
- 15. Let the breadcrumbs soak through completely.
- 16. Sprinkle the soaked breadcrumbs with the sliced almonds.
- 17. Heat half of the butter in a non-stick pan.
- 18. Fry the first four bread slices golden brown on both sides.
- 19. Preheat the oven to 100 degrees Celsius.
- 20. Keep the fried bread slices warm in the preheated oven.
- 21. Heat the remaining butter in the pan.
- 22. Fry the remaining bread slices golden brown on both sides.
- 23. Keep these bread slices warm in the preheated oven as well.
- 24. Arrange all bread slices on a platter.
- 25. Serve the bread slices with the plum compote.
