  5. 5. Add the lemon juice to the plums.
  6. 6. Add two tablespoons of honey to the pot.
  7. 7. Add cinnamon to the pot.
  8. 8. Add about 80 milliliters of water to the pot.
  9. 9. Place the pot over medium heat.
  10. 10. Let the plum mixture simmer gently for 8 to 10 minutes.
  11. 11. Whisk the milk with the eggs.
  12. 12. Add two tablespoons of honey to the milk-egg mixture.
  13. 13. Add a pinch of salt to the milk-egg mixture.
  14. 14. Dip the breadcrumbs into the milk-egg mixture.
  15. 15. Let the breadcrumbs soak through completely.
  16. 16. Sprinkle the soaked breadcrumbs with the sliced almonds.
  17. 17. Heat half of the butter in a non-stick pan.
  18. 18. Fry the first four bread slices golden brown on both sides.
  19. 19. Preheat the oven to 100 degrees Celsius.
  20. 20. Keep the fried bread slices warm in the preheated oven.

  22. 22. Fry the remaining bread slices golden brown on both sides.
  23. 23. Keep these bread slices warm in the preheated oven as well.
  24. 24. Arrange all bread slices on a platter.
  25. 25. Serve the bread slices with the plum compote.
