  2. 2. Cut the apple into quarters and remove the core.
  3. 3. Slice eight very thin wedges from the apple quarters.
  4. 4. Dice the remaining apple parts into small cubes.
  5. 5. Place both the thin wedges and the diced apple into a pot.
  6. 6. Pour the apple juice, wine, and 100 milliliters of water into the pot.
  7. 7. Add the cloves, cinnamon sticks, and star anise.
  8. 8. Warm the mixture gently, but do not let it boil.
  9. 9. Let the punch steep for about 10 minutes.
  10. 10. Pour the rum into the mixture.
  11. 11. Sweeten the punch to taste with honey.
  12. 12. Pour the finished punch into four glasses.
  13. 13. Serve the punch immediately.
