🍰 Moist Apple Cake with Sugar Glaze

Ingredients
- 100 g Butter
- 4 Eggs
- 2 tbsp Whole Cane Sugar
- 60 g Apple Puree
- 1 pinch Baking Powder
- 200 g Spelt Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 pinch Salt
- 500 g Apples
- 1 tbsp Powdered Sugar from Cane Sugar
- 1 pinch Vanilla Powder
Instructions
- 1. Melt the butter over low heat.
- 2. Let the melted butter cool down.
- 3. Whisk the eggs, cane sugar, apple puree, and a pinch of salt until creamy.
- 4. Stir the cooled butter into the egg mixture.
- 5. Add the baking powder to the mixture.
- 6. Sieve the flour.
- 7. Stir the sieved flour into the mixture until a smooth batter forms.
- 8. Peel the apples.
- 9. Cut the apples into quarters.
- 10. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
- 11. Slice the apple pieces into thin slices.
- 12. Take 400 grams of the apple slices.
- 13. Gently fold the apple slices into the batter.
- 14. Lightly grease a springform pan.
- 15. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- 16. Arrange the remaining apple slices in rosette shapes on top of the batter.
- 17. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (convection: 180 degrees; gas: setting 3).
- 18. Bake the cake for about 20 minutes.
- 19. Cover the cake with aluminum foil after 20 minutes.
- 20. Continue baking the cake for another 20 minutes.
- 21. Remove the cake from the oven.
- 22. Carefully release the cake from the pan.
- 23. Let the cake cool completely.
- 24. Mix powdered sugar and vanilla sugar in a bowl.
- 25. Sprinkle the cooled cake with the sugar mixture.
