🍽️ Crunchy Apple Caramel Compote

Ingredients
- 800 g tart apples (4 tart apples)
- 50 g raw cane sugar
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 3 allspice berries
- 200 ml clear apple juice
Instructions
- 1. Peel the apples completely, removing all skin.
- 2. Remove the core from the apples.
- 3. Cut the apples into four equal quarters.
- 4. Cut the apple quarters into thin slices or small cubes.
- 5. Place the raw cane sugar into a pot.
- 6. Heat the sugar over medium heat.
- 7. Wait until the sugar turns light brown and starts to caramelize.
- 8. Add the cinnamon to the pot.
- 9. Add the allspice (a spicy berry) to the pot.
- 10. Pour the apple juice into the caramel mixture.
- 11. Stir the mixture until the caramel is completely dissolved.
- 12. Bring the liquid to a boil.
- 13. Add the prepared apple slices to the pot.
- 14. Reduce the heat to the lowest setting.
- 15. Cover the pot with a lid.
- 16. Let the compote simmer for about 12 minutes.
- 17. Stir the compote occasionally during the cooking time.
- 18. Remove the pot from the stove.
- 19. Transfer the finished compote into a bowl.
- 20. Let the compote cool down at room temperature.
