Ingredients
- 1 kg tart apples
- 1 kg jam sugar (1:1)
- 50 g raisins
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- apple juice (100% fruit juice)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the apples.
- 2. Cut the apples in half.
- 3. Remove the core.
- 4. Dice the flesh into small cubes.
- 5. Place the raisins in a bowl.
- 6. Pour warm water over the raisins.
- 7. Let the raisins soften in the water.
- 8. Drain the raisins well afterwards.
- 9. Weigh the diced apples and drained raisins together.
- 10. Add apple juice.
- 11. Ensure the total weight is exactly 1 kilogram.
- 12. Transfer the mixture to a large pot.
- 13. Stir in the lemon juice.
- 14. Stir in the pectin sugar.
- 15. Add the cinnamon sticks.
- 16. Let the mixture steep for about 2 hours.
- 17. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 18. Let the jam bubble vigorously for 4 minutes.
- 19. Perform a gel test beforehand.
- 20. Fill the hot jam into the prepared jars.
- 21. Seal the jars tightly.
- 22. Turn the jars upside down for 10 minutes.
- 23. Turn the jars right side up.
- 24. Let the jam cool completely.
