🍽️ Fruity Apple Cranberry Jam

Ingredients
- 500 g cranberries
- 500 g ripe apples (e.g. Boskop)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 kg jam sugar (1:1)
- 150 ml apple juice
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 cloves
- 0.5 vanilla pod (seeds)
Instructions
- 1. Remove the hard stems or calyxes from the cranberries.
- 2. Wash the cranberries thoroughly under running water.
- 3. Let the cranberries drain well in a sieve.
- 4. Peel the apples completely.
- 5. Cut the peeled apples into four equal pieces.
- 6. Remove the core from the apple pieces.
- 7. Cut the apple flesh into small cubes.
- 8. Add the apple cubes and the cranberries to a large bowl.
- 9. Pour the lemon juice over the fruits.
- 10. Sprinkle the sugar over the mixture.
- 11. Mix all ingredients well together.
- 12. Let the fruit mixture sit for two hours.
- 13. Stir the juice and spices into the fruit mixture.
- 14. Pour the mixture into a cooking pot.
- 15. Bring the mixture to a boil on the stove.
- 16. Let the jam bubble vigorously for four minutes.
- 17. Fill the hot jam into prepared, clean jars.
- 18. Seal the jars tightly with the lids.
- 19. Place the sealed jars upside down for ten minutes.
- 20. Let the jars cool and store them in a cool, dark place.
