Ingredients
- 2 Eggs
- 200 g Sugar
- 2 tbsp Rum
- 1 tbsp crushed Anise seeds
- 250 g Flour
Instructions
- 1. Whisk the eggs, sugar, and rum in a bowl with a whisk until the mixture is white and foamy.
- 2. Stir in the anise seeds and flour gradually into the egg mixture until a uniform dough forms.
- 3. Dust a work surface with some flour and shape the dough into finger-thick rolls that are each 6 centimeters long.
- 4. Cut diagonally into one side of each roll with a sharp knife three times, cutting about halfway to the center of the dough.
- 5. Grease two baking sheets with butter and sprinkle some flour on them so the cookies do not stick.
- 6. Bend the rolls at the cuts outwards so that they take on a horn-like shape.
- 7. Place the shaped cookies on the prepared baking sheets.
- 8. Cover the baking sheets and let the dough rest at room temperature for 12 hours.
- 9. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees.
- 10. Bake the cookies for about 20 minutes on the middle rack until the bottom turns slightly brown.
- 11. Remove the baking sheets from the oven and let the anise cookies cool completely.
