Ingredients
- 50 g dates
- 50 g sliced almonds
- 40 g sunflower seeds
- 25 g peanuts (unsalted)
- 50 g 5-grain flakes
- 30 g puffed amaranth
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 25 g sultanas
- 1 pinch salt
- 75 g butter
- 50 g cane sugar
- 4 tbsp liquid honey
Instructions
- 1. Pit the dates and chop the flesh into small pieces.
- 2. Add the almond slices, sunflower seeds, peanuts, cereal flakes, amaranth, and chopped dates to a large bowl. Add cinnamon, raisins, and a pinch of salt, then mix everything well together.
- 3. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir in the sugar and honey, and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat while stirring constantly.
- 4. Pour the hot sugar mixture over the dry ingredients and stir everything thoroughly with a wooden spoon. Line a 24 cm (9.5 inch) springform pan with baking paper and spread the mixture into it.
- 5. Press the mixture firmly and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (convection not recommended, gas mark 2-3) for about 25 minutes. Let the bars cool completely, remove them from the pan, and cut into triangles.
