🥪 Quick Croque-Madame with Sour Cream Sauce

Ingredients
- 4 Scheiben Toast Bread
- 8 Stück Sliced Cheese (Gouda or Emmentaler)
- 4 Scheiben Cooked Ham
- 4 Stück Eggs
- 4 EL Sour Cream (15% fat)
- 20 g Butter
- 1 Prise Salt
- 1 Prise Pepper
Instructions
- 1. Fry the cooked ham in a large pan with half the butter over medium heat for approx. 1-2 minutes until golden brown and place it on a plate.
- 2. Spread the sour cream seasoned with a pinch of salt and pepper onto two slices of toast bread.
- 3. Place two slices of cheese and one slice of ham on each of the sour cream-coated toast slices.
- 4. Cover the filling with the remaining toast slices and press them down lightly.
- 5. Fry the sandwiches in the still hot pan with the remaining butter on both sides for approx. 2-3 minutes until crispy and golden brown.
- 6. Remove the sandwiches from the pan and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 7. Fry the eggs to completion as sunny-side-up eggs in the same pan.
- 8. Place a sunny-side-up egg on each sandwich and serve immediately while hot.
