Ingredients
- 200 g Chicken breast fillet
- 1 Egg
- 100 g Panko breadcrumbs
- 1 TL Salt
- 1 TL Pepper
- 2 EL Honey
- 1 EL Mustard
- 2 EL Mayonnaise
Instructions
- 1. Cut the chicken breast fillet into strips about 2 cm thick. Tip: Cut against the grain so they stay tender.
- 2. Pat the meat strips dry with paper towels. Important: Don't rinse them, or the breading will get soggy.
- 3. Whisk the egg in a shallow bowl with a fork. Make sure it’s fully mixed.
- 4. Mix the breadcrumbs with 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp pepper in a second bowl. Season evenly.
- 5. Dip each chicken strip into the egg first. Briefly let excess liquid drip off.
- 6. Roll the egg-coated chicken in the breadcrumbs. Press the breading on gently so it sticks.
- 7. Place the breaded strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Don't stack them on top of each other.
- 8. Preheat the air fryer to 200 °C. This takes about 3 minutes. Hot air is important for crispiness.
- 9. Cook the chicken strips in the air fryer at 200 °C for 10 minutes, until golden brown.
- 10. Shake the basket vigorously or turn the strips. This ensures all sides brown evenly.
- 11. Cook the chicken strips for another 5 minutes. They are ready when golden brown and crispy.
- 12. Mix 2 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp mustard and 2 tbsp mayonnaise in a small bowl. Stir until smooth.
- 13. Remove the chicken strips from the air fryer. Let them rest for 2 minutes to redistribute the juices.
- 14. Serve the warm chicken strips with the honey-mustard dip. Perfect: The dip is creamy, the chicken is crunchy.
