🍽️ Crispy Almond Croissants in the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 4 Pre-made Croissant Dough Sheets
- 100g Bittersweet Chocolate
- 2 EL Sugar
- 50g Almond Slices
- 1 Egg
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C. This takes about 3 minutes.
- 2. Carefully take the 4 croissant dough sheets out of the package.
- 3. Lay the dough sheets flat on a clean work surface.
- 4. Chop the 100 g dark chocolate into small, irregular pieces.
- 5. Distribute the chocolate pieces evenly over the surface of the dough sheets.
- 6. Sprinkle the 2 tablespoons sugar finely and evenly over the chocolate.
- 7. Fold each dough sheet in half, so the filling is on the inside.
- 8. Press the edges of the croissants firmly together with your fingers.
- 9. Whisk the egg in a small bowl with 1 tablespoon water.
- 10. Brush the tops of the croissants thinly with the egg-water mixture.
- 11. Sprinkle the brushed croissants generously with the 50 g almond flakes.
- 12. Place the croissants flat in the basket of the air fryer.
- 13. Bake them at 180 °C for about 10 minutes, turning them halfway through, until golden brown and risen.
- 14. Take the croissants out and let them rest on a rack for 5 minutes.
- 15. Serve them warm. Ideally, the shell should crack slightly when you bite into it.
