🥔 Creamy Potato Poirolee with Bacon

Ingredients
- 800 g Potatoes (waxy cooking type)
- 150 g Bacon strips
- 2 Stk Onions
- 300 ml Heavy cream (at least 30% fat)
- 100 g Gouda cheese (grated)
- 20 g Butter
- 1 TL Salt
- 1 TL Pepper
- 1 Prise Nutmeg
Instructions
- 1. Peel the potatoes and slice them into thick rounds.
- 2. Cut the onions into fine cubes.
- 3. Fry the bacon in a large baking dish or frying pan over medium heat until crispy.
- 4. Remove the bacon and crumble it. Leave the bacon fat in the pan.
- 5. Sweat the onions in the bacon fat for 3 minutes until translucent.
- 6. Add the potato slices and cream to the pan. Season with salt and pepper.
- 7. Let everything simmer over medium heat for 12 minutes until potatoes are soft and cream thickens.
- 8. Turn on your stove's grill setting.
- 9. Top with cheese and bacon. Broil for 2 minutes under the grill until cheese melts.
- 10. Serve the poirolee hot.
